hand–made ceramic gifts
Emma Peacock is the artist behind gussie & sir. Emma studied art and in between raising her three gorgeous children she has kept her artistic flair alive with numerous projects from embroidery to photography and watercolours. However, her true passion has always been for ceramics. In the Spring of 2008 Emma embarked on a series of pottery and painting courses which culminated in the setting up of gussie & sir in the latter part of the year. Incidentally, the name is derived from her beloved Grandparents' nicknames... it's a long story! Emma's studio is in the village of Biddenham where she houses all of her equipment and kiln.
"I simply love creating beautiful things for people. It gives me enormous pleasure making a one–off item that will be treasured for years to come. I am tremendously excited about the launch of the gussie & sir take–away pottery painting kits. They are proving hugely successful, I think it is fantastic that people can go away and have a go at home by themselves... the results that come back are stunning.

I held an art and crafts afternoon for my children and their friends and Emma provided everything we needed for a fun afternoon of creativity! The instructions Emma provided were straight-forward and simple to follow and the all the children thoroughly enjoyed painting something they were giving as a gift. I was pleasantly surprised to see there was NO mess – just hands that needed a wash! It was a fun and EASY afternoon, that produced fantastic, personalised presents for people. Emma was a delight to work with, extremely helpful and efficient. I can't wait to arrange our next pottery afternoon!

Gussie and Sir is the perfect place to find truly personal gifts. I love the fact that each thing is made to order. If it is a gift for someone else then they take the time to find out more about the kind of things they love. The end result is a unique gift, tailor made and great value. I bought something for my friends 40th Birthday and everyone is jealous of her new mug and bucket to pop pens and things in. But I have to admit it becomes addictive I am now on my 3rd order in 6 weeks.

The best party I have ever had! My daughter's words after her gussie & sir pottery party at home last weekend. Take–out kits are such a great idea of Emma's and she really is the most professional and friendly person to deal with – thank you, next time it's my friends and I!

I ordered a commission for my God Daughter's Christening and the result was simply amazing. Emma is a fantastic artist who took the time to really understand what I wanted to create and then presented me with something that was more beautiful than I ever imagined. Not only that, Emma was professional, efficient and went beyond great customer service. I wish her every success with gussie & sir, she deserves to do very well, now when are you opening that Pottery Cafe Emma?!
