pottery painting parties with gussie & sir
No fuss, completely rewarding and lots of fun!
Not just for children's Birthdays at home or in a hall, it's great for a group of grown-up friends over supper and a bottle of wine in the evening. Or why not gather your children's friends together for an Easter or Christmas party or even an Arts and Crafts afternoon at home!
How it works
Before the party, the host/each guest has chosen what item they would like to paint. gussie and sir stock a diverse and lovely range of pieces from which you may choose. You could select a traditional plate, bowl or mug, or perhaps a larger figurine, box, money bank or plaque. The item you choose will determine the price you pay – there are three different categories – please see below.
gussie and sir then will provide the complete take-out kit in a crate with absolutely everything that you and your guests will need for the party. This kit will include:
- A full instruction sheet detailing how to get the best results
- The pieces you have pre-selected for you and your guests
- 40+ colours of glaze, (not just one pink but a multitude!), with a Colour Guide Tile showing how they will look when fired
- Writer pens filled with glaze and ready to write!
- Some simple design ideas
- A wide selection of pencils, brushes and sponges
- Water pots
- Disposable aprons for children
All you need to provide is: some blank paper for the guests to first sketch out their design, a table cloth, some kitchen roll, water and wipes and of course some enthusiastic painters! It really doesn't make any mess other than painty hands to wash. Of course, all the paints are washable, (although it is advisable for very little guests to wear old clothes just in case).
gussie & sir will collect the kit and finished pieces and take them back for clear glazing and firing. The pieces will be returned, ordinarily within the week. Everyone gets a great keepsake and no party bags required!

- Pre-moulded items for girls - fairy figurine, princess chest, rainbow bank, princess bank, heart plate, ballerina box, cat, dog. For boys - dinosaurs, football bank, football mug, racing car figurine, tank bank, car bank, shark figurine, lion.
gussie & sir BLUE Party – £17.00 per head
Larger items such as large heart or star boxes, vases, platters – perhaps more suited to adult parties. Please call for more details.
A gift for the Party Host/Birthday Child
For all Red, White and Blue Parties the party host/Birthday child will receive a special keepsake, normally a plate thumb-printed and/or signed by their guests as a souvenir of the event!
Deposit
All bookings require a non-refundable deposit of £50.00 to be paid at the time of booking. The balance is due on delivery of the take–out kit. There is a minimum booking of 8 guests. A damage deposit of £25 is also required to cover any breakages/damage to the kit. This will be refunded upon receipt of the kit in the same condition in which it was delivered.
Delivery/Collection charges
gussie & sir will deliver the kit, collect the kit and finished pieces and deliver the glazed and fired pieces free of charge within a 5 mile radius of Biddenham. For distances over 5 miles the charge will be 40p per mile for the three journeys – delivery, collection and delivery.
